Orange County Public Schools Youth Academy
Volunteers are needed to work with the youth at Orange Youth Academy.  ABOUT: Orange Youth Academy (OYA) serves youth who have been sentenced to serve their time in a transition based facility. OYA offers a variety of services to these young men. Services ranging from education, transition into work, transition into society and many other services. Getting the community involved is important to their success. As a way to help with their social and emotional growth the students are able to go on field trips, listen to various guest speakers and volunteer in the community. Orange Regional Juvenile Detention Center (ORJDC) serves youth detained from various counties in Florida. Youth are detained pending adjudication, disposition or placement into a commitment facility. Services for youth include: education, mental health, substance abuse, and health care. Medical and mental health are contracted services. Educational services are funded by the Department of Education through Orange County Public Schools.
