Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant | Energy Management Systems and Energy Information Systems

The Energy Management Systems and Energy Information Systems project is one of eleven projects in Orange County being funded by the Department of Energy through the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG). This project aims to install Energy Management Systems (EMS) at 12 county buildings. These systems allow building services such as lighting and air-conditioning and heating to be computer controlled and thus allow for more energy-efficient building management. All of these systems will be tied to a central Energy Information System (EIS) which can provide a “report card” of building energy usage patterns and can be used to remotely control each building in energy and money saving ways.
