Head Start | Head Start Recovery

The Head Start Program provides high quality, comprehensive childhood development services in a safe, nurturing environment to over 1,500 children (3 and 4 year olds). ARRA funds will be used for replacement of the 4 modular units at the Pine Hills Head Start Center and to pay for associated installation costs to improve and ensure a healthy and safety environment for the Head Start children of Orange County. The program will ensure that the physical environment is safe, aesthetically pleasing and conducive for learning. Funding will also provide for staff training.

Below are the expected goals, objectives and outcomes of the Galileo Training for the Head Start Program: Fundamentals of Galileo Training Program Goals: •To utilize Galileo a web-based technology for the purpose of documenting, planning and measuring academic growth of children enrolled in the Head Start program. Program Objectives: •To provide accurate academic progress to parents. •To provide recommendations for improving lesson plans. •To better utilize the web-based technology for enhancing teaching roles in the classrooms. Program Outcomes: •Have more children academically ready for entering kindergarten. •What we can do to increase school readiness scores. •A better understanding of how they can utilize the system day-to-day within the classroom. On-going training and technical support to teaching staff as needed.
